About Us
Hi. My name is Mary-Anne Cowan. My partner Wayne and I currently reside in Hamilton New Zealand. Cats have always been a part of my life, ever since I was old enough to remember, with our first family cat being a white shorthaired domestic whom we “adopted” when our neighbours moved back to England leaving poor “kitty” behind. As a child growing up I always had a succession of “strays” following me home.
When my partner and I met in 1996, he too had a passion for furry four legged creatures and we adopted “our first baby” together and from there the “family” quickly grew with the addition of our first pedigree cats, two colour point Persians (a Tortiepoint spay female and a Bluepoint neuter male). That was our first foray into pedigree Persians.
From there our passion for Persians grew with the addition of another four Persians two years later and our first introduction to “showing”. With the encouragement of new friends whom we met through showing our beautiful cats, a year later we had purchased our first breeding female and proceeded to hunt for a prospective “husband” for our precious girl. After much research in May 2005 we imported our first stud from “Willangi Cattery” in Australia.
We have started a breeding programme specialising in Bi-Colours with our first litter of Bi-Colour Persians born in December 2005.
Early 2007 we started a chocolate breeding program with the addition of a solid chocolate female. A year later we added a chocolate stud to the program, and are hopeful to achieve our first chocolate Bi-Colour litter in late 2008.
Our lines are PKD negative. We aim to breed show quality pets and prefer the more “open face look”.
Catz Inc Runner Up Breeder Of The Year 2008.
