The Cattery

In late 2004 we built a cat run for exercising and providing visual stimulation for the benefit of our pet neuter/spay pedigree show Persians.

When we progressed to breeding, we then modified the cattery to house several stud cats.

In early 2010 due to a shift in location, the design was altered again to become a more practical working cattery.
This comprised of six individual stud enclosures, with a single run the length of the cattery for exercise purposes and an external grassed enclosure. The addition of shade sails has been used to provide extra shade during the hot months, along with the inclusion of drop down curtains for extra wet weather protection.

See below for pictures of cattery as initially set up and then following, current pictures of cattery as modified from January 2010.

The extended cattery

The cattery run as an elevated covered and enclosed outside play area with a weatherproof shed attached at one end.
The enclosure comprised of three separate stud runs, two of which could be divided in half.
The communal exercise area incorporated stairs and ramps for climbing and shelves for sitting on.
All areas divided by a partial perspex division allowing for visual interaction, assisting hygiene and ease of cleaning.
